Before you send it
- Read every line. This is a draft written from what you gave it, not a signature, and the terms say the same: you are the sender, and the one who defends it in the interview.
- Check every claim against your CV. It is instructed never to invent experience, and it still deserves the thirty seconds it takes to confirm.
- Cut anything that sounds like somebody else. A letter that sounds like a template is worse than a shorter one that sounds like you.
- One page. If it runs longer, the three examples are doing too much work each.
