Save jobs in one press

Our Chrome extension, or a button on your bookmarks bar in any browser. Press it on a job ad on Seek, LinkedIn, Indeed, Student Job Search, ZEIL, a careers page or anywhere else, and the title, employer, place, listing reference and the whole ad come across, for you to check first.

Setting it up, once

About a minute, on a computer, once.

The extension, in Chrome or Edge

  1. Add it from the store

    Press Add to Chrome, then Add extension. In Edge, allow extensions from other stores first.

  2. Pin it to your toolbar

    The jigsaw-piece Extensions icon, then the pin (in Edge, Show in toolbar).

  3. Press it on a job ad

    Then Add to jobtracker.co.nz in its panel, and the app opens with the job.

  4. Check it, then add it

    The app asks before anything is saved.

The bookmark, in any browser

  1. Show your bookmarks bar

    Ctrl + Shift + B in Chrome, Edge and Firefox (Cmd + Shift + B on a Mac). Safari: View, then Show Favourites Bar.

  2. Drag the button up onto it

    The green button above, or in the app under Get the one-press button on the Jobs page. Pressing it here does nothing: drag it.

  3. Open a job ad and press it

    Any ad, any site. Your browser reads the page, as copying it by hand would, and opens jobtracker.co.nz with it.

  4. Check it, then add it

    Nothing is saved until you press Add it, and nothing is added twice.

The extensionYou see it before it opens. Or it says the page cannot be read. The extension holds no settings, keeps no history and loads nothing from anywhere.
The app asking Add this job, listing the job, the employer, the location, the source, the reference and the length of the ad, with a ticked line for the pay it read from the ad.
It asks first, every time. Pay and hours read from the ad's words are shown ticked, with the figures, to untick. Not this one keeps nothing.
The saved job, with the title, employer, location, contract type, hours, source, listing reference and the whole job description kept against it.
Then it is yours, ad and all. The reference and description stay after the listing comes down (on Seek after 30 days or sooner).

What comes across

Everything the ad states about itself, and nothing it does not.

Nothing it would have to guess: "competitive salary" stays empty rather than becoming a number, and a weekly figure is never quietly turned into a yearly one.

What it never does

When it does not work

It says it does not look like a job ad
Open the job itself, not the search results.
I use Firefox or Safari
Use the bookmark. It reads the ad the same in every browser.
The extension's button is not in my toolbar
Pin it: the jigsaw-piece Extensions icon, then the pin.
I am on my phone
Both are for computers. Use + Add job in the app, with the link in Listing URL and the ad in Job description.
Nothing happens on some pages
Settings pages, the extension store and PDFs are closed to every extension and bookmark. Open the ad as a web page.
The site published nothing about the ad
The title and link still come across; fill in the rest.
It says I already have this one
You do: the ad is recognised by the id in its address.
